POSH Pulse Survey: An Ungender X Springworks Initiative.
As we enter the 3rd year of the pandemic, much has changed about the world around us. Most of our interactions now happen through a screen, our workplaces are now the locations we want to be based out of, brainstorming sessions now happen over shared documents. Looking back at the evolution of the workplace, the pandemic was definitely a unique Uno card no one saw coming.
Speaking of workplaces, the positives in the last few years have been at an all time high and in spite of all these collective wins happening with the global workforce, we cannot deny or overlook the lows. The Great Resignation continues to grow with each passing month and is here to stay. The workforce is now prioritizing their well being not just in their personal lives but also at their workplace.
“Even as the pandemic and ‘The Great Reconsideration’ fundamentally change and shape the way we work, it’s doubly important for organisations to ensure that the employees feel safe and heard. The Springworks X Ungender POSH Pulse survey is our first step towards orienting organisations and the stakeholders within them towards this future. We’re excited to be working with the Ungender team on several such initiatives to take Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workplace from an afterthought to the first order of business.”
– Kartik Mandaville, CEO, Springworks
In times like these it is the need of the hour for workplaces to become a safe space for their employees. As newer workplace policies take shape, most employees are still left wondering about workplace safety when it comes to misconducts.
In India, the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act, 2013) has been in force since 2013. The law makes it mandatory for all workplaces with 10 or more employees to have their own policy against workplace sexual harassment, set up an internal committee and conduct regular anti-sexual harassment training for employees. While most workplaces are now implementing the POSH law, a question that still remains unanswered is employee awareness when it comes to the POSH law.
The POSH law is more than just a workplace compliance mandate. The heart of the law is to empower employees to know appropriate workplace behavior and raise complaints against sexual misconducts in the workplace. In order for this to happen, employee awareness takes the center stage.
“Employee first companies are built with a focus on employee needs- and what the employee need is a sense of safety, well-being, and belonging. A conscious leader cannot be everywhere but can put systems in place to ensure the communication is always straightforward and uninterrupted. The Ungender X Springworks POSH Pulse Survey is the launch of enabling conscious leaders with the experience pulse of their teams- enabling an inclusive culture for inevitably diverse teams.”
Pallavi Pareek, Founder, Ungender
If you are an organization wondering how you can do this, here’s a few things you should consider:

- Can my team members intervene if they see an incident of sexual misconduct in the workplace?
